Rand agreed to meet with him in rec room 6 but was displeased when he sealed their date with a slap on her bottom. When they met at the rec room he tried to impress her with card tricks. She later introduced him to Tina Lawton in the hope he would befriend her, but Charlie was too attracted to Rand for this to happen. She became uncomfortable with Charlie's advances and finally asked Captain Kirk to talk with Charlie about it. But Charlie became more and more importunate and when she didn't return his feelings he used his powers to let her disappear. She was returned to the Enterprise by the Thasians when they took Charlie home. TOS Charlie X. TOS Miri. Rand returned to serve aboard the Enterprise as transporter chief in 2273. Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Rand subsequently served at Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco, where she assisted in directing emergency operations when Earth was threatened with ecological disaster by an alien space probe of unknown origin. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Rand later served as communications officer aboard the U.S.S. Excelsior under the command of Captain Sulu. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Shortly thereafter, Ross supported a bold plan proposed by Sisko to retake station DS9 from Dominion control. Ross subsequently presented Sisko with the Christopher Pike Medal of Valour for the daring recapture of DS9. Ross had a good rapport with Romulan senator Cretak. In 2375, he co-operated with Section 31 to infiltrate the Romulan Government. He represented the United Federation of Planets at the signing ceremony, held on station DS9, that ended the terrible Dominion war in late 2375.
